Biography

 



Benson was born and raised in Tohatchi, New Mexico. He is the second oldest in his family of six brothers. He and his wife, Brenda, are blessed with two sons and a daughter. Benson is a self-taught silversmith and the first in his family to learn the trade.

During his High School years he took a basic silversmith course that lead to his professional career in sliver and goldsmith. For the past 15 years, his specialty has been the intricate inlay. He worked for Ltd. for 14 years, perfecting his inlay. In January 2002, he started his own business designing, building and inlaying his own jewelry from start to finish.

Benson has won numerous awards at the Navajo Nation Fair in Window Rock, Arizona; The Totah Festival in Farmington, New Mexico; The Red Earth Show in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; The Santa Fe Indian Market, Santa Fe, New Mexico; The Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial, Gallup, New Mexico, and many others.
